Introducing Jessica Russell – Our Newest Legacy Filmmaker in Perth

We’re thrilled to welcome Jessica Russell to the Big Stories Little Films team!

Based in Perth, Jessica brings a wealth of creative experience to our legacy filmmaking family. A director, cinematographer and producer with a passion for capturing authentic human stories, Jessica will be available to create legacy films across Perth and the surrounding areas of Western Australia.

Jessica’s storytelling roots run deep — across both stage and screen. She holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and a Masters in Screen Studies (Directing & Cinematography) from the WA Screen Academy. Her career spans everything from working with Black Swan State Theatre Company and Co3 Contemporary Dance, to creating powerful video design for productions like Prima Facie, described by The Guardian as “the most evocative part of the performance.”

Whether she's behind the camera, in a rehearsal room, or mentoring young storytellers in WA schools, Jessica brings heart, integrity and a deep sensitivity to the human experience.

Jessica says her goal is to “blend cinematic footage with emotion — to capture people in their essence.” And that’s exactly what she’ll be doing as she helps families across Western Australia preserve their loved ones' stories for generations to come.

We’re incredibly excited to have Jessica on board — and can’t wait to see the unforgettable legacy films she will create.

And of course, having Jessica as part of the team means that we are now offering legacy films in Perth - with no travel fees!
