Introducing our new Time Capsule Film
Introducing our new Time Capsule Films.
Family films recorded at any age and stage - to treasure forever.
At the heart of Big Stories Little Films are our Legacy Films — a way of capturing the full arc of a life story in later years, preserving family history, wisdom and memories for future generations. These films remain the foundation of what we do.
But over the past year, we’ve noticed something else. Many families in their midlife years began asking if there was a way to record their stories too — not as a life summation, but as a way to pause in midlife and capture the here and now.
That’s what inspired our newest service: the Time Capsule Film.
Why a Time Capsule Film?
Life in midlife can feel like it’s racing by — children growing up too quickly, careers evolving, milestones stacking up one after the other. A Time Capsule Film gives families the chance to stop, reflect, and preserve this stage before it slips away.
How It Works
We spend time with you in your home, recording a relaxed conversation and capturing natural moments of family life. We weave these together with your photos to create a short, documentary-style family film that reflects life as it looks today.
A Film for Midlife, a Gift for the Future
Where our Legacy Films are often created as a gift for children and grandchildren, a Time Capsule Film is just as much a gift for yourself. It allows you to look back in years to come and remember how things were — and it leaves a beautiful record for the next generation too.
Looking Ahead
The response to this idea has already been incredible. Sharing Sarah Kelly’s Time Capsule Film online showed us how much these films resonate — her story has already reached 15,000 viewers and counting and was shared by people who understood the power of pausing to reflect.
We’re so excited to add the Time Capsule Film alongside our Legacy Film offering, giving families of all ages the chance to capture their story on film.
